Placements in the traveller journey

Koala Smartblock is designed to fit into the pages you already have, at the moments where protection makes the most sense. You decide where it goes, and Koala adapts what it shows to suit that moment.

Common Smartblock placements across the booking journey

The same Koala Smartblock can be embedded into any of these pages. These are common placements, not a fixed order or a required set, and you can use more than one.

Common placements​

  • At checkout (during booking). The traveller is actively buying their trip, so protection is a natural addition to the purchase they're already completing. This is the most common placement.
  • On the confirmation page (after booking). The trip is secured and the traveller is reassured, which is a strong moment to offer protection as a finishing touch.
  • In "manage my booking" (before travel). Closer to the trip, travellers often revisit their plans. This is a good opportunity to offer protection they didn't take earlier.

One widget, many moments​

Wherever you place it, it's the same Koala Smartblock and the same single integration. What changes is the context you give it: Koala uses that to present the right bundles and the right layout for the moment, so a checkout placement and a confirmation placement can feel purpose-built even though they share one setup.

You can also run more than one placement across your journey. A traveller who skips the offer at checkout might take it on the confirmation page or later in manage-my-booking, giving protection more than one chance to land without ever feeling repetitive.
